Paxon acted as financial and commercial adviser to Infrastructure NSW on the appropriateness of commercial structures to be applied to activating the 5.2 hectare site at Barangaroo and the associated developments with major counter parties.
Paxon conducted a review of the contractual documentation and other information related to the proposed negotiation position to determine commercial risks and potential strategies or approaches to achieve better outcomes through the negotiation.
The Gateway Review was conducted in accordance with the Infrastructure NSW methodology for a Health Check and provided a report compliant with the guidelines which summarised the potential risk to the State of the proposed approach.
Throughout the conduct of the project, consideration was also given to the impact on other Government policy and announcements, and the consequences for future Government-facilitated developments.

Paxon’s clear strength during the health check was our ability to identify key project risks and assess their impact on all stakeholders.
Paxon was also able to use an understanding of market precedent and expectations to clearly outline the potential impact of these risks on the developer, and potential subsequent development, where Government played a role in the precinct development.
