Paxon acted as lead financial and commercial adviser to Curtin University on the Greater Curtin Exchange mixed use development project.
Exchange is the first true blended mixed-use project of its size and nature in Australia. The transformative hub serves as a catalyst for innovation for students, industry and the broader community.
The $450 million project comprised over 1,500 new student beds, 38 housing apartments and 60 hotel rooms. These sit over a mixed-use precinct of retail, commercial and recreational spaces.
Paxon’s advice ensured the University achieved value whilst providing a project structure which was bankable by private sector parties.

Paxon’s key contribution was not only developing a commercial structure which met the University’s objectives and was fundable and bankable to private sector participants, but also communicating the structure and risks to University stakeholders and bidders.
The project reached financial close in June 2019, with development now underway on site.
